The Garrett Engineering And Robotics Society (GEARS) is hosting their next Sumo LEGO (SuGO) competition on at the GEARS Center in Accident Maryland.
LEGO still has basic bricks but there's also a ton of other cool parts, including gears, wheels, tracks, and motor drives. You'll use a light sensor to prevent the robot from falling off the Sumo ring (Dohyo), and some infrared eyes to locate the opponent. Now you just have to PUSH!!!!.
The area's FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams will provide all the LEGO parts you could imagine, and FRC Team 1629 will help with construction and running matches.
Teams will register at 1:00pm, and be given a basic "starter kit" of key parts, . A host of additional parts will be available to use to construct your Sumo Bot. If you need help, just ask!
At 3:30pm the playoff schedule will be posted, and the competitions will begin.
After the official completion, we will run some "Free-for-all" matches just for fun.
